Bio“The most satisfying part of my law practice and business career is when I advise business people how to do 10 things in better ways then they ever thought of, or even knew about. To see how thankful they are that they talked to me is a real thrill. To see them implement new practices and strategies and succeed from my advice is very gratifying.” Neil S. Siskind, Esq.
Neil Siskind is an attorney and member of the New York State Bar and the New York State Bar Association. Early in Neil’s career, he worked for prominent New York City law firms including Herrick Feinstein, LLP, whose attorneys can regularly be seen providing legal and business insights on cable news financial network CNBC. Neil counseled business owners and investors in all of their business transactions including purchasing and selling of businesses and commercial property, leasing, business and property financings, management and operations, partnerships, and investments. Neil represented federally chartered banks in their lending activities. Subsequently, Neil became in-house counsel simultaneously to a private company, with manufacturing and distribution revenue in excess of $50 million dollars, and to their public company affiliate where he advised on brand acquisitions, company contracts, licensing and merchandising, human resources, securities registrations and filing as required by the SEC, public announcements, and capital expenditures. Neil was also the company’s Director of Operations, overseeing shipping and receiving operations, license negotiations, joint ventures and brand development. In 2001, Neil launched Brandtastic, LLC, an Intellectual Property licensing business where he acquired intellectual property rights to product patents and trademarks and licensed them for mass-market distribution. This venture included the acquisition of rights to various copyrights, trademarks and patents including a patent for a children’s product which was successfully licensed to a children’s product distributor. We studied the market to determine the best licensees and best retailers to target for distribution. We worked with the distributor to design, price and package the product and sell it to retailers including WalMart, Target and Costco. The Brandtastic venture also included the acquisition of a trademark in Asia registered under Japanese and Korean laws, which trademark was licensed for product manufacturing and distribution in Asia. Neil has been involved in his own Internet start-ups including an Internet video company where he developed the business model and concept, managed the website development and worked with US and overseas-based developers. Neil began his own law practice handling business start-ups, licensing, real estate transactions, and small business issues from contracts to space leases to business formations, business plans, partnerships, and raising capital. Neil has also represented banks in lending and foreclosure transactions. Neil is the present owner of The Siskind Law & Consulting Firm.
